Series 9 of record group 78-113 consists of approximately 600 b&w photographs (most 8x10) of Michigan state fairs for the years 1919-1970 (bulk dates 1950-1970). These photographs document fair activities and staffs. Includes a few aerial photographs of the fairgrounds and State Fair Midway during the period 1950-65. Also includes photographs of governors G. Mennen Williams (1949-60) and George Romney (1963-69). Also documents the buildings on the fairgrounds, circus acts, parades, livestock award ceremonies, and entertainers (mostly local) appearing at the State Fair. Many posed shots of staff dinners, dedication ceremonies, and portrait photographs.
